The Art of Reborn aims to create the most incredibly realistic baby dolls and I have experienced how these babies can bring joy and happiness into other people's lives.
I've reborn baby dolls for three years now and I continually update my methods to move forward as an artist and to bring you the highest quality babies possible.
I spend many hours creating each of my . It usually takes me very long (3 or 4 weeks) to
bring my little babies to life and I don't duplicate any of them. Each one is one of a kind, there can't never be another exactly
like one of them.
My babies are hand painted so naturally it looks like they haven't been painted at all.
I used oil paints on my dolls for over two years, then recently I've tried the Genesis Heat Set Paints and I found them amazing!
These colors are permanent, they will never fade or rub off. I apply several layers of paint to achieve the baby look I'm aiming and each layer is cured properly, my babies' coloring will remain as it is for many years to
come. No area is left untouched, I meticolously hand paint every detail, like the barely there eyebrows and the nails. You can even notice the bluish
undertones so common in real newborn babies, the veining and the stork bites.
I hand-root the babies heads with 1/2 strands of Premium kid mohair inserted at a time. I use the smallest needles available to doll artists, no big plug holes are visible on the little heads. Sometimes dolls are given mohair wigs, which I
hand sculpt without using scissors.
My babies have cloth bodies with vinyl limbs. I custom design the doe suede bodies and sew them so each baby has the right size body.
Each part of their body is weighted to feel like the real thing and is filled only with the highest quality stuffing, very soft polyfill and little
poly beads, in order to be perfectly proportioned. There's NO SAND or BABY FAT inside the bodies.
Hand Knitted Baby Outfits
I've always loved to hand knit delicate outfits for babies! All the designs are my original creations, I don't follow any pattern, I just use my imagination to create unique outfits.
I only work with allergy-free yarn and threads so the outfits are suitable to be worn by real babies and collectible dolls.
